Carriage House Foundation Fund Awards Largest Single Grant To Date

December 8, 2008 (Syracuse, NY) -The Carriage House Foundation Fund, administered by the Central New York Community Foundation, has awarded two grants.

Huntington Family Centers received a $10,000 grant from the Fund to purchase a vehicle that will provide transportation to senior participants of their Clover Corner Program. This is the largest grant awarded to date from this Fund. The Clover Corner Program is a year-round senior activity program that offers seniors options for socialization, education, leisure activities and hot meals. Huntington Family Centers, established in 1919, provides youth, family and adult development programs that are tailored to the unique needs of each consumer.

The Laker Transportation Project received $5,000 to purchase a small vehicle that will allow them to expand their operations in an economical way. The Laker Transportation Project, also known as Laker Limo, is a nonprofit company that provides transportation to Skaneateles-area seniors and disabled people. Their mission is to increase transportation options for seniors and enhance their ability to live more independently within their communities.

The Carriage House Foundation Fund is a permanent field-of-interest fund established to provide funding to senior programs in Central New York.
